The World-Scale Vinyl Complex is a major petrochemical manufacturing facility being developed as part of a broader growth programme aimed at strengthening domestic manufacturing and supporting downstream industrial demand. Designed to operate at world scale, the complex integrates advanced process technologies, modern infrastructure, and high standards of safety, reliability, and operational performance.
The project includes one of the largest chlor-alkali facilities of its kind and has been planned to deliver efficient, reliable, and sustainable production. Given its scale and technical complexity, the development requires close coordination across engineering, procurement, construction, technology partners, and a global supply chain.
TCE’s Scope
Tata Consulting Engineers (TCE) is providing Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management (EPCM) services for the Vinyl Complex. TCE's scope spans detailed engineering, procurement support, construction management, and project coordination across the facility.
The project involves extensive engineering covering process units, utilities, infrastructure, piping networks, electrical systems, instrumentation, and associated facilities. TCE is coordinating with technology licensors, equipment suppliers, and global vendors to support seamless project execution while maintaining stringent requirements for quality, safety, and schedule adherence.
As part of the project, TCE is also supporting the implementation of advanced digital engineering tools and digital twin solutions to improve project visibility, operational readiness, asset performance, and lifecycle management.
Impact
The World-Scale Vinyl Complex will strengthen India's petrochemical manufacturing ecosystem by enhancing domestic production capacity and supporting a more resilient industrial supply chain. The facility is expected to contribute to the growth of downstream industries that rely on vinyl and chlor-alkali products while promoting efficient and sustainable manufacturing practices.
