Goa’s water supply system serves a diverse mix of urban centres and tourist hubs with seasonal populations that cause fluctuating demand. Existing infrastructure faced uneven distribution, operational inefficiencies and increasing peak demand during tourist seasons. The project assessed sources, treatment facilities, transmission systems and distribution networks, identified pressure imbalances, conveyance constraints and losses and planned improvements to address immediate and long term needs.
TCE's Scope
Tata Consulting Engineers conducted detailed system studies and engineering planning, prepared demand analysis and hydraulic assessment of transmission and distribution networks, developed system improvement proposals and produced detailed engineering designs for priority works while assisting in preparation of technical documentation to support phased implementation. Solutions improved distribution equity, enhanced operational flexibility and strengthened resilience under variable demand conditions.
Impact
The project improved reliability of water supply, supported demand driven by tourism and strengthened the long term sustainability of Goa’s water supply infrastructure.
