A major two-wheeler manufacturer established a modern scooter production facility in Raebareli, Uttar Pradesh, in collaboration with an international technology partner. Spread across 90 acres, the plant features a built-up area of 22,000 square metres and was designed for an annual production capacity of 125,000 scooters. The facility was successfully commissioned in September 1986.

The plant was equipped with essential manufacturing infrastructure, including a paint shop, welding shop, assembly shop and machine shop, supported by comprehensive mechanical and electrical utilities. The layout was carefully planned to ensure smooth material flow and efficient operations across all production stages.

TCE’s Scope

Tata Consulting Engineers (TCE) delivered end-to-end engineering and project management solutions for this greenfield project. The scope included preparation of the plot plan and complete site development, including roads and drainage systems. TCE carried out detailed engineering for electrical distribution systems and integrated mechanical utilities to support production processes.

The team also designed and implemented chemical effluent treatment plants to meet environmental compliance requirements. In addition, TCE provided project coordination, inspection and expediting services to ensure timely execution. Comprehensive construction management was undertaken for all phases of the project, ensuring quality and adherence to schedules.
