Tirupur is a major textile and knitwear manufacturing hub with high water demand and complex wastewater management requirements. Industrial growth and urban expansion created the need for a reliable water supply system and an effective wastewater management framework capable of supporting long term economic activity while protecting the environment. The project developed integrated water supply and wastewater infrastructure serving domestic and industrial users under a long term operational arrangement and covered planning, design and implementation support for abstraction, treatment, conveyance and treatment systems.
