Nanded experienced rising demand due to population growth and urban expansion, which placed pressure on supply infrastructure. Seasonal variability in availability and limitations in conveyance and storage capacity affected service reliability. The project assessed sources, treatment facilities, transmission pipelines and storage infrastructure and identified augmentation measures to improve conveyance capacity, stabilise pressures and enhance storage to meet peak demand by reviewing layouts to improve hydraulic efficiency and operational robustness.

TCE's Scope

Tata Consulting Engineers carried out system studies and demand assessment, undertook hydraulic modelling and prepared detailed designs for pipelines, pumping stations and reservoirs along with technical documentation for implementation. Quality control and design review support were provided during execution. Interventions were designed to improve resilience of the supply system, reduce stress on existing assets and enable phased integration of new infrastructure.

Impact

The project strengthened Nanded’s supply capacity, improved service reliability and supported sustainable urban growth.
