The project involved expanding and upgrading a nitric acid facility in Donaldsonville, Louisiana, to support increased production and improve product handling capabilities. The expansion included enhancements to storage, loading, and process infrastructure, enabling the facility to produce concentrated nitric acid while strengthening transportation and distribution operations. The improvements were designed to support future growth, improve operational flexibility, and maintain high standards of safety and reliability across the facility.

TCE's Scope

TCE provided design and engineering services for the facility expansion. The scope included engineering modifications required for concentrated nitric acid production, design of a new storage tank and containment system, and development of truck and rail loading facilities.

TCE also supported the installation and integration of process equipment, including pumps, vessels, heat exchangers, scrubbers, and associated piping systems. As part of the overall upgrade, engineering was carried out for firewater and drainage rerouting to support safe and compliant operations.

Impact

The project increased nitric acid production capacity while enhancing the facility's storage and distribution capabilities. The addition of upgraded loading infrastructure improved product movement by both truck and rail, supporting operational efficiency and supply chain reliability. The facility expansion delivered a safe, dependable, and future-ready platform for continued growth.
