Currently under development, Kaiga Units 5 and 6 will introduce two 700 MWe PHWRs, expanding the site’s capacity to 2,280 MW. These units are part of India’s fleet-mode construction strategy, aimed at accelerating deployment of indigenous reactor technology for clean energy growth.

Tata Consulting Engineers (TCE) undertook engineering for conventional island systems, including civil, structural, piping, and electrical works. The team delivered procurement support and constructability reviews to optimise schedules and costs.
