This project involved comprehensive power system studies aimed at strengthening electrical network reliability, operational safety and resilience under both grid connected and islanded operating conditions. The studies evaluated system behaviour during normal operation as well as disturbance scenarios.

The scope included detailed load flow analysis, short circuit studies, motor starting analysis and transient stability assessment. Protection system evaluations covered unit protection settings, relay coordination studies and development of an optimised load shedding scheme to ensure continuity of critical operations during contingencies.

The final deliverables comprised detailed technical reports and recommendations to enhance protection performance and overall system reliability.

TCE's Scope

TCE acted as owner’s consultant for power system studies and carried out detailed electrical network analysis, relay coordination studies and islanding scheme development. The scope included preparation of comprehensive study reports and implementation recommendations.

Impact

The studies improved system resilience during grid disturbances and islanding events by strengthening protection coordination and load shedding logic. The outcomes enhanced operational reliability, reduced risk of cascading failures and supported stable operation of critical electrical loads.
