As part of India's transition towards a low-carbon future, a large-scale integrated solar PV manufacturing ecosystem is being developed at the Dhirubhai Ambani Green Energy Giga Complex in Jamnagar, Gujarat. The development is designed to strengthen the domestic solar value chain, bringing together key manufacturing facilities that support renewable energy deployment at scale.
A key component of this ecosystem is one of India's largest solar PV glass manufacturing facilities. Planned in multiple phases, the facility is designed to deliver high-quality solar glass for photovoltaic modules, helping improve supply chain resilience and supporting the country's growing renewable energy ambitions. The project combines advanced manufacturing technologies, modern infrastructure, and efficient utility systems to enable reliable, high-volume production.
TCE's Scope
Tata Consulting Engineers (TCE) is providing Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management (EPCM) services for the solar PV glass manufacturing facility. TCE's scope covers engineering and project management for process units, plant buildings, utilities, infrastructure, and associated non-plant facilities while coordinating with multiple technology licensors, equipment suppliers, and international partners.
The project is being executed on a fast-track schedule, requiring close collaboration across stakeholders, disciplined planning, and integrated engineering to support timely delivery. TCE is also overseeing construction management activities to ensure quality, safety, and efficient execution throughout the project lifecycle.
Impact
The facility represents an important step in strengthening India's solar manufacturing ecosystem and reducing dependence on imported components. By supporting large-scale domestic production of solar PV glass, the project contributes to a more resilient renewable energy supply chain and supports the country's clean energy goals.
