The TPQA Services project for IIT Hyderabad involved overseeing the development of an innovative Sports Complex designed to meet international standards. The complex features cutting-edge curvilinear roof structures that create a striking architectural identity while ensuring functionality and durability. It houses world-class facilities for basketball, volleyball, badminton, and table tennis, along with dedicated fitness and cultural spaces. Additional amenities include a modern swimming pool, an amphitheater with a seating capacity of 2,500, football and cricket grounds, and an outdoor running track. A key highlight of this project is India’s first in-situ cast folded-plate roof in Self-Compacting Concrete (SCC), which delivers exceptional structural curvature and exposed concrete aesthetics, setting a new benchmark in construction innovation. With a project cost of INR 644 crore, this Sports Complex was successfully completed in March 2023, reinforcing IIT Hyderabad’s commitment to providing world-class infrastructure for sports and recreation.

TCE's Scope

Tata Consulting Engineers (TCE) provided comprehensive Third-Party Quality Assurance (TPQA) services to ensure adherence to the highest standards of quality and precision throughout the project lifecycle. The scope included Bid Process Management, ensuring transparent and competitive procurement, and Project Management Consultancy (PMC) services to monitor progress, manage timelines, and maintain cost efficiency. TCE’s involvement guaranteed that the project met stringent technical specifications and delivered superior structural and architectural outcomes. By combining expertise in quality assurance and project management, TCE played a pivotal role in transforming the vision of IIT Hyderabad’s Sports Complex into reality, creating a facility that stands as a benchmark for excellence in design and execution.
