This major renewable energy development proposes 19 GW of wind capacity and 10 GW of solar capacity to support large scale green hydrogen and ammonia production in Mauritania. The project forms part of efforts to create a globally significant green energy hub in West Africa by combining high renewable potential with industrial scale processing.

TCE's Scope

TCE delivered a complete assessment of renewable assets including solar and wind capacity evaluation and the overall energy mix study. The work also included selection of the most suitable configuration and technologies for the solar plant and optimisation of the wind power plant to reduce the Levelised Cost of Energy.

Impact

TCE’s work provided the technical basis for developing one of the world’s largest proposed renewable energy clusters. The configuration studies and optimisation exercises support cost effective energy generation for large scale green hydrogen and ammonia production. The assessments help guide investment decisions and strengthen long term planning for Mauritania’s renewable energy ambitions.
