Location

Middle East

The project involves the development of a Green Ammonia production facility located in a Special Economic Zone in the Middle East. The facility will use renewable energy from solar power to generate electricity for an electrolyser that produces Green Hydrogen. This hydrogen, combined with nitrogen, will be used in the ammonia synthesis process to produce Green Ammonia. The overall planned capacity for the Green Ammonia project is 3300 metric tonnes per day.

TCE's Scope

Tata Consulting Engineers is providing detailed engineering services for Phase I of the project, which will have a capacity of 300 metric tonnes per day of Green Ammonia. The scope includes complete engineering design and support for the ammonia process unit and associated systems. The project is being executed on a fast track basis with a challenging schedule of eighteen months to achieve commercial operation.

Impact

The work by Tata Consulting Engineers will enable the successful implementation of a sustainable and innovative solution for ammonia production using renewable energy. This contribution supports the transition towards cleaner energy and reduces carbon emissions by replacing conventional ammonia production methods with a green alternative. The project will serve as a benchmark for future developments in the region and globally, showcasing the role of advanced engineering in achieving environmental goals.
