The Ghatghar Hydroelectric Power Station is a landmark pumped storage scheme designed to provide reliable energy during peak demand. The project features two reversible pump turbine units of 125 MW each housed in an underground powerhouse, supported by two reservoirs near Ghatghar and Chonde Budruk. Both dams are constructed using Roller Compacted Concrete technology, ensuring faster construction, cost efficiency and environmental benefits through the use of fly ash.

Tata Consulting Engineers (TCE) delivered comprehensive engineering consultancy for this pioneering project. Our services included feasibility studies, preparation of technical specifications, bid evaluation support, detailed design engineering and quality oversight during construction. By enabling dependable energy storage, TCE helped strengthen Maharashtra’s power infrastructure, support economic growth and contribute to a cleaner, more resilient energy future.
