The eastern peripheral areas of Ahmedabad were incorporated into city limits to support urban expansion and planned development. Providing reliable water supply and Sewage services to newly developed areas was essential to ensure orderly growth and adequate living conditions. The project developed transmission mains, pumping stations, distribution networks and Sewage systems across a large urban area with coordinated delivery through multiple contracts.
TCE's Scope
Tata Consulting Engineers undertook detailed engineering and implementation support, prepared design reports and tender documents, evaluated bids, delivered designs and drawings for civil, mechanical and electrical works and inspected equipment. The team supported expediting and quality control during execution. Infrastructure was designed to accommodate phased urban growth while ensuring adequate capacity and operational reliability. Sewage systems were planned to provide comprehensive coverage and effective conveyance.
Impact
The project enabled planned urban development in East Ahmedabad by providing essential water and sanitation infrastructure which improved service availability and environmental conditions.
