This project involved the construction of a coal based captive thermal power plant with an installed capacity of 67.5 MW. The plant was developed on a 200 acre site prepared using reclaimed industrial material and designed to support continuous power supply for metallurgical operations.

The steam generator delivered 275 tonnes per hour of steam at 90 bar pressure and 515 degrees Celsius temperature. The steam turbine operated at 3000 rpm, coupled with a generator rated at 84.375 MVA and 10.5 kV terminal voltage. Annual energy generation was 502 million units at 85 percent PLF. Power evacuation was carried out through a 132 kV switchyard.

TCE’s Scope

TCE provided consultancy services covering feasibility studies, preparation of tender specifications, vendor drawing review, inspection and expediting services during project execution.

Impact

TCE contributed to the execution of a coal based captive thermal power plant designed to support large scale industrial operations. The project enabled reliable captive power generation through coordinated engineering review and construction phase support.
