This project involved power system studies for a power plant configuration comprising two bleed extraction condensing turbines rated at 28 MW each. The electrical configuration includes two synchronous generators, each with a rated capacity of 30 MW, connected to a 37 MVA, 11/33 kV power transformer.
The 33 kV switchgear outgoing feeders supply multiple process areas including starch and glucose, mycelium, utility plants, effluent treatment and extraction units. The study scope included steady state assessments such as load flow analysis, short circuit studies, motor starting analysis and relay coordination evaluation.
TCE's Scope
TCE carried out steady state power system studies including load flow, short circuit, motor starting and relay coordination for the two × 28 MW turbine configuration and associated 30 MW generators and 37 MVA, 11/33 kV transformer system. A detailed steady state report was prepared and delivered.
Impact
The study validated steady state electrical performance and protection coordination for a multi generator configuration supplying diverse process loads. The approved report supported reliable operation and design readiness of the 33 kV distribution system.
