The project comprised a coal based thermal power station with an installed capacity of 2 x 210 MW, developed on a 990 acre site with provision for future expansion. The plant utilised pulverised coal firing technology with steam generators designed for continuous base load operation.

Each unit was equipped with steam turbines and generators rated at 210 MW, operating at a terminal voltage of 15.75 kV. Power was stepped up and evacuated through a 220 kV switchyard. The plant achieved an annual energy generation of 3127 million units at 85 percent PLF. Water requirements were met through canal based supply systems.

TCE’s Scope

TCE provided services covering preparation of the detailed project report, detailed engineering for major plant systems and inspection services during execution.

Impact

TCE supported the development of a large coal based thermal power station through structured engineering and inspection inputs, contributing to commissioning of high capacity generating units and strengthening regional power infrastructure.
