The project involved the development of a 172 MW gas based thermal power plant designed for flexible operation on natural gas and alternate liquid fuel. The plant configuration included a gas turbine generator coupled with a heat recovery steam generator and a steam turbine generator operating in combined cycle mode.

The gas turbine operated at 3000 rpm with a maximum continuous rating of 120.8 MW, while the steam turbine delivered an output of 59.985 MW. The heat recovery steam generator produced 209697 kg per hour of steam, supporting efficient combined cycle operation.

The generators were rated at 151 MVA and 81.3 MVA respectively, with a terminal voltage of 11.5 kV. Cooling water systems, condenser systems and auxiliary infrastructure were designed to ensure high availability and continuous operation. Power was evacuated to the grid through high voltage switchyard infrastructure.

The plant was commissioned in phases and achieved full capacity operation within the planned schedule, supporting power supply to industrial consumers.
