TCE bagged the Second Prize in the National Award for Excellence for the project on Spent Fuel Storage Facility. Mr R Srinivasan, Mr D P Misra and Mr B M Nichat received the award from Consulting Engineers Association of India.

This project of the Department of Atomic Energy is of immense national importance, since the facility is designed to store spent fuel discharged from Pressurized Heavy Water Reactor.
